Wizardry skills enable a major part of Crossfire by allowing players to cast specific [[:spells|spells]] and is closely related to [[skills:praying]].  Many player [[:characters|characters]] have the ability to memorize and cast spells, as do some [[:NPCs]] and [[:monsters]]. [[:equipment]] such as [[equipment:scrolls]], [[equipment:wands]], and [[equipment:staffs]] may also be used to cast spells, so even non-magical, godless player characters will frequently encounter spells in the game.
