Well, apparently you don't get negative experience for successful
castings now (not that I saw anyway), but after a few normal looking
successes, I suddenly jumped from 5 magic / 31 mental to 10 magic and
110 mental, exceeding the maximum experience.. eek!

This was while creating simple formulae in multiples of 200.
