There are two different things that might help you: parties and guilds.

A party is just a group of players; they can message each other easily,
and they can share experience.  Use the built-in help to learn about the
many party commands (IIRC typing "help party" will tell you about it).

A guild is, well, there are houses in all major BigWorld towns and cities
called Guild Houses.  You need at least 3 players and a LOT of money to
buy one; so this is probably going to be a medium-term goal for them ;-)

A guild house is a shared house, with space to store things, and also has
one big buildable annex where you can use "buildable" things to customize
it to your own taste.  It's the closer you can come to building your own
house.
