The problem here is my available time to make releases.
As many may recall, at the start of this year, I made the announcement that
I'd make a release (1.10) shortly. At the time I made the announcement, I had
time (right then) to make the release, but giving a couple weeks for bugs to get
fixed, etc, seemed like a good thing to do.
However, work, home, and other things cropped up, and 2 weeks later, I didn't
have the time. So now we are 2 months later, and 1.10 has yet to be released.
So I basically came to the conclusion that I have the time right now to make a
release, so should do it. Looking at my schedule, there is a good chance that 2
weeks from now, I wouldn't have time. And then the release gets put off longer,
etc.
This release is also a little more time consuming, as it is our first release
under SVN. I'm also writing a pretty detailed doc on the wiki on the steps
needed, so perhaps others could make the releases (it isn't particularly hard,
but does take a fair amount of time).
IMO, release of crossfire should be done more often (quarterly perhaps)? Gets
the code out there a little faster, but it also means that if something misses a
release, it doesn't have to wait as long for the next release.
In any case, sorry for not giving notice, but just needed to get a release out
while I had the time to do it.
