The second and more useful bug

at this time the only cure is to use svn trunk ( perhaps the new branch, not 
sure )

This was ignored on previous reports on invidious ( including cores ) untill 
an 2nd person figured out that is was related to python being compiled with 
-DNDEBUG

with that new information anmaster graciously code dived and found a fix
