[crossfire] Metalforge server RC v1.12.0 EoL (approx: Jan-2025)

Well, a new update.

Lesson learned - the approach should have been, "Any chance the RC 
v1.12.0 code base could get some updates to run on a modern or current OS?"

Because, that happened via the Discord/IRC channel discussion. The 1.12 
code branch received such updates.

Over the next couple of weeks, that code base will be tested. Assuming 
all goes well, then the Metalforge server will continue and the player 
files and maps will be migrated to the new server host.

Updates will be posted to this email thread.
