I know its cruddy timing, but other things are still getting put in anyway, so: At least one of my maps would benefit from a slight change to *either* the creator *or* check_inv code: Currently, creator objects may only specify the base arch and a different name for the object created; The check_inv can only check the object type, slaying field, or name of the *base arch* of items checked for. So if you want a checkinv to respond to an item from a creator, there will still be other items in the game that can also trigger it. For my purposes, this is A Bad Thing. ... I am trying to implement a ticket-dispenser type thing, a bit like the gate-pass dispenser in scorn, but for various reasons, I can't use the method used there. So, I would be grateful if either the creators were patched such that the slaying field of objects could be set too, *or* the checkinv tiles changed to also be able to recognise the *actual* name of items (they currently don't). Presumably, if some unused field could be found for this purpose, such a patch could be applied with minimal effort, without breaking existing maps, and without any sort of side effects. Obviously there would be no changes in playbalance either (depending on what mapmakers use the changes for, I guess). I think the change would make sense in the creator objects, but the slaying field is already used there to specify object name. I could kind-of implement the map with trigger-altars, but it would not work very well IMHO, and there have been other times in the past when I've wanted this feature, and it would be more flexible. Thanks for your time (again), Tomble (Tom Barnes-Lawrence) PS- has any thought been given to making a new type to work like firewalls *used* to, ie- throw out an arch? A few things are still affected by that change, such as the cannons, and the entrance to peterm's firetemple, and I heard someone on the map-list who wanted a wall to fire arrows. Presumably the original code is still around somewhere. _________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com.
