Hello, This strange set of data may enlighten, a little, where we should set the max armour value. My idea is if we know the survival time of a fighter vs. certain benchmark monsters, we'll know how high to set the max armour. I measured this stuff by: 1) Starting with a character with ac of 2 and no armour 2) Quaffing a potion of invuln for 90 armour 3) Standing next to the monster and seeing how long it took to kill me. Test dummy had 400 hp. All modified to have only AT_PHYSICAL. WHY is the ancient red dragon, with seemingly inferior stats, so deadly? I think this points to something bizarre in the code. AV is performing similar tests with other monsters, but I think 18 seconds of life at armour 90 is good enough, unless something evil is done, like placing him in the middle of 3 ancient red dragons. Resistance 95 would give the player ~2x the survival time shown 97 would give the player 3.3x the survival time shown. PeterM
