[CF-Devel] gcc-2.96 ?

Any bad(?) things with gcc-2.96?

I was talking on #mklinux about how gdb on ppc-linux doesn't work with signals
very well (it core dumps!) and they said to try upgrading to 2.96 and gdb-5.0.

Wanted to get cf developer opinion though.
