I have set up a test server with the new body/apply code. It is tavern.santa-clara.ca.us. It is currently on the metaserver list. I've set this up to hopefully get some testing on this new code before I commit it. I've done some preliminary testing, but with the number of class/religion/race combinations, trying to cover all of those would be difficult. As the motd below says, I've populated the server from the player files on metalforge - this should give a good starting point of combinations that people can test against. For the most part, all the races are basically the same as they were (in terms of what they can equip). The one exception is the fireborn, which I've currently set up to be able to apply 4 rings and 2 amulets. Note that the item power code is also in place, but other than listing item power for differing objects, does not currently prevent players from applying things. Note that the server is running in a debugger, so if it crashes, it will be unavailble until I restart it. As said, I'd appreciate it for those of you who can to take 5-10 minutes and try differing things out - this will hopefully catch some of the worst bugs before I commit it into CVS. Thanks. Here is the MOTD from it: NOTICE: This is a test server for the new apply code. The server may be restarted without notice. Please do test out applying objects to make sure everything seems to work correctly. This server only has 128 kbs bandwidth, actually adventuring will likely be painful. That is not the purpose of this server! This server has been populated with the player files for metalforge.real-time.com to provide characters ready to test. Any changes made to these characters on this server (ie, adventuring) will get lost when the server is shut down. If you don't like these conditions, log off now. A few other notes: You can use the 'body command to see what slots your character has and how they are equipped. Some objects have been moved to the same slot, eg wands, rods, and horns all use the same inventory slot. So it is possible that old characters will be using more of these slots than they really have. See the 'applymode' help page. For other notes/questions, please see/use the crossfire-devel at lists.real-time.com mailing list.
