  Yes.  The DX client uses the original protocol for map drawing.  That protocol 
had a limited mapsize of 13x13, but didn't have the bug with respect to 
invisible players.  Very old versions of the unix client would use that, and 
would also draw it correctly.

  Newer versions use the newer map drawing protocol, and that code on the server 
was never sending the player face when invisible.
