The rest of this looked good.  One slight problem with multiple range
items is that I like to use the enhanced bow for the strength bonus on
my  dragon chars.  Also, some horn (Eorlingas?) has a charisma bonus.
Changing this code would mean that you lose the strength bonus if you
try using wizardry or somesuch, and equip a talisman (de-equipping the
bow, if I'm understanding correctly.)

But then again, that may be a good thing.  It's a somewhat stupid way
to get +1 strength.
