You can also remove the crossedit reference from the makefile so it does not
build - this is useful if you don't want X on your server.  There should be
more info in the archives about this as I asked this a few months ago.
Anyway you build the server then in the makefile you will see a line SUBDIRS
= ...
remove crossedit from  here and all is good (unless you want crossedit
installed on this server.)

I still wonder if crossedit should get built by default or if it should only
get built as an option since has X as a requirement while the rest of the
server does not require X.  X is not a small requirement.
