There is a procedure on sourceforge website which explain how to create a cron 
job on the sourceforge shell servers to automatically checkout the cvs, make 
a tar.gz and put it on the project webpage (aka crossfire.sf.net). But this 
need to be done by the project maintainer. Perhaps it should be done for 
future problems. Because the cron has anonymous pserver access to the real 
cvs and not the copy, it's still accessible when cvs is down.
