IMO, have some spells not work correctly with runes is probably

perfectly fine. I note that it doesn't appear that you can cast word

and as long as that holds true, it won't work.

Then if some spells can't be put in runes, we should prevent a player

      from doing that :)

Probably not worth the effort - as long as there are not bad side effects (eg,
crash, gobs of exp, whatever), we should generally let players do whatever they
want.

There are many things in real life that you can do but is not a smart thing to
do (build a bridge out of styrofoam). Yet nothing is preventing you from doing
it - I see the same thing as crossfire.

The fix here isn't in the rune code, it would be in word of recall -

Hum, then you could have side effects sometimes when you want to cast

wor on yourself, but a friend is in the direction you're looking in :)

Not saying that's bad, just that we'll hafta take care :p

Yep - it would change behaviour, although perhaps no different than how the
healing spells are now - players would just have to get to casting in direction
0 or whatever.

      Oh! lol

I thought confusion was a cone spell, like burning hands & such :p

Mass confusion is a cone spell.
