Looking at the code it seems simple - I can *try* to implement this if there are no objections to the idea and if someone else does not do it better faster. I was thinking of having a 'no_final_exit' or similar named field which if included in the random map mesg field will disable the exit being written to the final_map.
As for it being odd - yes it is strange. Strange and Wonderful.
