  The preferred method now is to upload the patches to sourceforge.  I've been 
falling quite a bit behind on reviewing them and applying them as necessary - 
maybe with the onset of fall, I'll get more on top of things.

  Ideally, other people could also review the patches that are submitted by 
sourceforge, and apply if they look good.
