Is it just me, or does that not break down into: 'everyone knows C, but java editor is written in $WEIRD_LANGUAGE, so to fix that let's write a new one in $WEIRD_LANGUAGE2' ? (yes, I know python is used for the map scripts, but being able to write them, and to write an entire application, are two very different things).
