The main purpose is to limit the number of objetc in permanent appartments. nrof has no importance, as for map loading, this is 1 object with an nrof field >1 Things like axes aso today do not really stakc (there are slight differences in them at creation time, specially since materials have been introduced) so if you limit the number of object instance on a square, this should be enough imho.
