I'm suggesting that as you go further over the racial max, it gets exponentially more difficult for the stat potions to work, eventually not working at all, at a point that is before 35, so that wouldn't be a problem. > The fact that pretty much all stats are relatively important - if a wraith > theif can get pretty close to that 30 dex at first level, maybe not great, > however, it does mean that instead of that player having to equip dex > improvement items, they can go for the con or str or other stats. Right now, > I'm sure there are several race/class combos that get relative close to 30. Indeed, except "pretty close to that 30 dex at first level" isn't quite correct. It's "at 30 at first level without even using any equipment or potions" in the wraith case. And I fail to see a very plausible storyline reason that could explain somethings that's already fast (i.e. wraith thief) not benifiting at all from items that give more Dexterity (or other similar examples with race/class combos). > If the stat limit were to be raised, I'd be inclined to do something a bit > more radical that increasing the limit by 5 points. Yes, this is a very valid point, but something like 50 and making the bonuses linear is a little too radical for my tastes. I'm thinking a great solution would be something like Lalo Martins is suggesting (see other e-mail) Alex Schultz
