officially we support LF only.
We have some undocumented CRLF support but wouldn't rely on it.
If you need CRLF support, just tell us. (Though I personally prefer LF-only 
even on DOS/Windows)
If this is changed, I think it'd make sense to do this synchronuous in 
crossfire as well in daimonin.

Note: Supporting only CRLF or LF will still leave some Mac users with no 
support for their native line ending: CR only.
