  Except I can't see a way to do it in sourceforge.

  To do it, you would need multiple repositories.  However, best I can tell, 
with sourceforge, 1 project == 1 repository.  So to do this on sourceforge would 
entail having multiple projects, which gets into other administrative issues 
(each project would have its own developer lists with permissions, etc).
