[crossfire] Skill effectiveness changes?

Crossfire.metalforge.net seems to be running version v1.12-beta-r12190M.
Has the "effectiveness" of skills (specially trap disarming and lock picking)
been changed around this version in respect to some earlier releases?

Even though I have a character with fair skill levels, I've yet to
successfully disarm or unlock anything with this version in even slightly
higher-level dungeons (like the Scorn Prison)? Or was gaining skill levels
perhaps easier in earlier versions? Or am I just imagining things?
