[crossfire] Archetypes collection changes proposal

Hello.

Here is another version of the patches, in which I moved stuff around and 
refactored.

The code is from my point of view clean enough for committing, but it probably 
needs more testing :)

Note that I didn't touch code when I didn't have to, I only adjusted what I 
needed for my collect-less rewrite - in the future, many things could be 
simplified with C++ stuff...
