And why not?  I think it should stamp "Knight" on his forehead and
he should lose a charisma point for being so butt ugly.  And then

from his forehead and regain his charisma point.

I think the original question indicates the game should do a better
job of having a ceremony making the character into a knight which
includes a speech stating the major advantages.

Now that the game has been released, there are more new people playing
and their questions should be viewed as QA testers.

On this topic, maybe the newbie dungeon needs an additional room
to explain religions and praying.  Maybe it should have a null temple
which allows the character to learn how to pray but it isn't to an
actual god so the player remains unattached to any religion.  It seems
questions on praying come up fairly frequently so it must not be that
obvious how to do.
