-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Well the size is mainly determined not by pictures but because this game has LOTS of messages and , well we need to put them somewhere. (Stats, fight message, chat message, inventory, ground, etc). By the way, the resolution of my PDA is 480x480, that's not enough to play. Just one more useless message i post to mailing list :p Le mardi 03 Août 2004 23:13, Mark Wedel a écrit : Lalo Martins wrote: > The existing clients (xt and gtk) are all but unplayable in > 800x600 :-( I do get to play eventually, by splitting windows > and stacking them in a very hackish way, but I don't think > that's an acceptable solution in the long term. Note that there are also options for the client to scale down the size of the images - this can help a bit also - especially for the inventory and look window, where the spacing is really determined by the size of the images. > On first thought it may seem that 800x600 is not a modern > resolution; but please remember that in portable-land, only the > most expensive laptops support more than that. The problem gets into the target - a client that runs/looks nice on 800x600 may not look or be all that efficient on higher resolution systems. > As a side note, is anyone working in porting the gtk client to > gtk2? I'm working on it slowly. My main motivation was to have a client that completely used glade2 for the gui design elements, so that down the road, it will be much easier to add new menus and whatever else. Progess is whenever I have time to do so, which basically means when I'm not busy with something else. _______________________________________________ crossfire-devel mailing list crossfire-devel at lists.real-time.com https://mailman.real-time.com/mailman/listinfo/crossfire-devel - -- - -- Tchize (David Delbecq) tchize at myrealbox.com Public PGP KEY FINGERPRINT: F4BC EF69 54CC F2B5 4621 8DAF 1C71 8E6B 5436 C17C Public PGP KEY location: http://wwwkeys.pgp.net/pgpnet/wwwkeys.html -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.4 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFBESh2HHGOa1Q2wXwRAuWZAJsH0PHLc3h8TDVF2gdAzgrCHYJVEQCg4LYI 9tCKx7TzCJsdfi7q5Lm53FA= =XBBI -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- _______________________________________________ crossfire-devel mailing list crossfire-devel at lists.real-time.com https://mailman.real-time.com/mailman/listinfo/crossfire-devel
