Well 5% as a default is good to keep people awake... it's fine to change 
it however - you don't need an excuse since that is the purpose of 
having settings file anyway. :)

Party based versions of these sort of spells would be great.  Some other 
suggestions could be a (at higher levels) teleport to or summon party 
member spell, or even some sort of wizard-eye spell that would show you 
another players view or at least remove the fog of war and let you share 
LOS anyway.

A new 'encounter' type generator which could produce monsters from 
treasure lists based on the average level and number of players on a map 
would be nice too.

Aside from this larger maps and larger map views as in the new clients 
would/will also help a lot for party play.
