[crossfire] strange behaviour of movements with latest server

  I just tried to reproduce this on my test server and was unable to do.

  I ran all around, and never did it freeze.

  Analysis of the server when it is in that state is probably necessary to see 
what it was doing.

  My understanding of the cause of metalforge freezes last weekend was high 
level casters casting large area of effect spells, but could be wrong on that.

  The only thing that changed on the protocol level is how smoothing is handled. 
  So one can eliminate that as a possible cause by turning off smoothing and see 
if it still happens or not.  If you're not using smoothing, the change to the 
server should be non existent.
