The version of a client may not need to track the server, though as it is a
tradition, I'll not push against that.

No backporting. I already looked at it. The two codebases are too far
apart. People have been featuring trunk and not branch, so the merge
down would be a terrible amount of effort to pare out things that are
not incompatible with branch nor unstable. Trunk is stable at the moment,
and I know of no reason the trunk client shouldn't be treated as "the client"
for the branch. If it must be 1.11, then copying it down is the way to
get back to a common base. Besides, without more distribution, there
will not be as much feedback on how to improve it, so it will mostly
stay a toy for a few - which is not a good thing in my opinion.

Branch GTK V2 is not a people's client and picks no bones about saying
so in the README. I think that not releasing the improvements would be
a travesty. I did the work to put GTK V2 into people's hands who would
not previously consider it - myself included. I've decided to jump over
and make it what it should be rather than just complain about it.

No, I don't recall seeing an rpmspec in the client, but now that you ask,
I see it. I'll look into updating it.
