kbulgrien pointed out on irc this came of as yanttf (yet another threat 
to fork).  So let me clarify.  I wouldn't fork for the sake of forking, 
just because I disagree with the code leader's decision.

Next year, I intend to use the crossfire server code for a different 
project.  My original plan was to use the upstream code, contributing any 
improvements I need to make that work, which means both projects get a 
richer server and there's less code to maintain.  But that was before the 
whole C++ conversation started.

To be fair I'm happier with a TrollC++ server than the current C server, 
from the POV of a Crossfire player, and if that's the path chosen, I 
wouldn't stop contributing to content or clients, or stop playing.  But 
as a developer, a TrollC++ server would be unsuitable for my project, so 
I'd base it off the latest C version; therefore, it's technically a fork.
